Recently I have been asking my students to make connections between their personal lives/chosen careers and those careers they choose to research in class. I ask them to to think about how semi-random research can be tied to meaning for them, personally. This week, among other things, we have researched two careers in the Government and Public Administration cluster. I would like to know why students chose to research the careers they did and how they "connect" to their own chosen career The careers i picked were, mapping Technicians, and Government Property Inspectors and investigators. My choosen career is Bioinformatics Specialists. And how these careers relate to each other, are by the studies they need to be accept in the program and the Skills, knowledge and abilities. The Mapping Technicians are similar with Bioinformatics by, being able to map and construct the cells with information being stored in them. The other career doesn't have a lot of similarities with Bioinformatics.

They relate to my life by how i could live my lifestyle. The foods I can eat. In our community it could relate to animals, our resources. They could affect out nation by, the resources being excavated/ or not having resources for fueling. Natural resources are very important to our nation.

My chosen career is a bioinformatics specialist. My business, managment, and Administration career was a computer systems operator. They have similar characteristics such as, having Bachelor's degree, at least having studied geometery, Algebra I. They also deal with storing information for certain uses and other reason and having problem solving as a worked on skill.

Students have just finished researching the Architecture and Construction career cluster. I'm curious to know how the two careers they looked at are similar and how they are different. I'm also interested to know if either of those two careers relate in any way to their chosen career. It should be interesting to read their posts! I choosen Earth Drillers, and Civil Engineering Technicians. There may be some to very little similar tasks for the both of these careers. Earth Drillers, use drills to tap sub-surface waters and salt deposits. Civil Engineering technicians, apply theory and principles for designing and overseeing construction. They both have some resemblance to Architecture and Construction. With the Earth Drillers they would be doing construction. While Civil Engineering Technicians, they would be doing Constructing buildings, roads, etc.

Now that you have completed some research on your chosen career (careercruising.com), how does it measure up to a career in Human Services? Please make a note of the two careers by name and write about what they have in common. Use your fact sheets to compare the two. After comparing the two careers, decide and write about what those similarities mean to you. Could you work in Human Services? Does it confirm your chosen career and academy or does it make you want to change it? The career I have chosen was Bioinformatics Specialist. I think that there are some similarities to my career I have chosen. Such as the mathematics skills that are needed for this job. Some other similarities are the storing, organize/anaylze biological or mathematical data. The tools have to deal with designing or creating technology. Process softwares for algorithms, or mathematical equations. More tools would be, media drives, notebook computers, etc. The similarities both have mathematics in them, which math is my strongest subject. I understand and hypothisize the answers quickly. Bioinformatics compared to Mathematicians have some similarities such as math, making and using algorithms to solve mathematical equations.

Why is it important for you to understand personalities in the workplace? Think of both, knowing your own personality, as well as knowing how to recognize other people's personalities It is important because knowing the person can help you with how they're resposbilities are, or how they can help you with they're responses. If they are in need you'd know what's wrong with them. Other peoples responsibilties help characterize them and what makes them their own whole. That's why you should know about their personality
